New Manager Leadership Program

The onboarding program for leaders of others is uniquely based on the leadership first principles for leaders of others as outlined in the Leadership Pipeline book. It is a 6-month digitized learning journey combined with three facilitated online workshops.

Participants are introduced to typical transition issues and the learning journey will guide them through the challenging first six months in their leadership roles and expose them to all the fundamental skills required to be an effective leader of others. But most important, the program simply helps them get things done that have to be done as a leader from the first day they step into their role.

Why Invest in New Manager Leadership Training?

Leaders of others are your front-line managers. They lead approximately 80-90% of all employees in the organization. They have the single highest day-to-day impact on engagement, motivation, attitude, job satisfaction, quality, and employee retention.

The basic business case for leadership onboarding programs is very simple. With an investment of less than 1% of the annual salary of the leader in question, you can significantly speed up the process from appointment to performance.

Moreover, as outlined in the Leadership Pipeline Book, people tend to fall back on previous behavior if they do not find new ways to success relatively fast. The result will often be that leaders of others keep operating with the mindset of an individual contributor.

Target Audience

The program is designed for leaders of others who have stepped into their leader of others role in the past 0-3 months.

As it is an onboarding program based on action learning, the leader must be in the role before commencing the training.

Action Learning

Everything is based on the participant’s own day-to-day challenges, and in addition we will include the participant’s direct manager in the learning process.

The program will simply guide the leaders step by step in how to get their hands around the leadership part of their job that needs to be done.

All exercises will be practical hands-on exercises where the participants will be working with their real-life challenges.

Flow

The entire learning journey is deployed via our mobile learning platform “LPI WebApp”. We will include a number of different learning interventions during the 6-month learning journey.

The 6-month learning journey includes three 2-hour facilitated online sessions. A kick-off session, a mid-term session and a session at the end of the six months.

We will guide the participants throughout the learning journey and secure ongoing motivation by applying  gamification in many of the learning elements combined with short push notifications supporting engagement.
